Modem Started in 2000, Modem is a specialising training course stemming from the collaboration among :Professione Danza, la compagnia zappalà danza and Scenario Pub.Bli.Co

Who is eligible to apply biannual course is aimed at students of contemporary dance between 18 and 28 years of age. Both EU and non-EU (with permit and free from school-related commitments) can apply.
Applications access to Modem training course is through either selection – participants will be selected during the uva grapes contemporary dance summer workshop – or audition.
Programme the programme is designed to help young dancers develop their dance technique with the support of highly professional dance teachers and benefit from the direct contact with the company and its choreographer. The range of elements in the programme include a thorough dance training together with the study of musical and theatrical skills (through specifically designed workshops), necessary requirements for today’s contemporary dancer. The training course ends with the staging of selected performances of the company’s repertoire and/or new guest choreographers’ creations (modem flow).
Classes will take place in Scenario Pubblico (artistic residence of compagnia zappalà danza) , a venue specifically designed for dance and the performing arts which gives an enormous creative potential to professionals and students alike. Participants will have the unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with the functional mechanisms of a performing arts venue and to see performances and take part in seminars and workshops by prestigious guest artists. The Artistic Director of Modem Training Course is Roberto Zappalà , artistic director and choreographer of compagnia zappalà danza.
Holidays 22nd December 2008 - 7th January 2009,10th - 14 Aprile 2009 and Italian national holidays.
Accommodation A student accommodation services list will be provided to participants. The cost for a single bedroom varies from 150 to 250 euros per month.
