The idea of Performative speech materializes during the lookdown period but it has always been my intention to implement it.

The need that is being put before us, of a creative and cultural proposal somehow forced by various restrictions, naturally crosses with a need that I had already had for a long time: to dialogue with our public regarding language and the different “mechanisms” of my creations.
In each of my interviews the most frequent question that intrigues everyone is: what is the creative method that over the years together with my staff and in particular together with my reference playwright and friend we have built? What poetic, dramaturgical, visual and body use mechanisms have allowed the birth and development of a clear and unmistakable artistic line?
Performative spech also arises from a question that is a bet: how can the reflections and conceptual research behind a creation or, better still, an artistic universe become an integral part of the performance itself?
Performative speech is a synthesis, a short chapter, of my creative world that together with some of my dancers we will make performative with words, images, movements and anything else that we deem appropriate to present from time to time.
A journey through some suggestions that led us to build the MoDem language and the creative world of Compagnia Zappalà Danza.
