Choreographers Panzetti and Ticconi present Insel, a piece for four performers coproduced by Scenario Pubblico and centred on the concept of an island.

In Italian, English and German, the linguistic and historical connection between the words Isola/Island/Insel and Isolation underlines the symbolic link between imposed or internal isolation and a voluntary detachment from the world. From Robinson Crusoe to Shakespeare, via the research of geographer and historian Jared Diamond, the show builds a fictitious space of a desert island and explores the character of the castaway or the exile, as well as the essence of the island and its emotional, spiritual and physical dimensions.
