LA NATURA DELLE COSE

VIRGILIO SIENI

The dramaturgy of La Natura delle cose was developed starting from the text of Lucretius; for this purpose Virgilio Sieni made use of the prestigious collaboration of Giorgio Agamben, one of the most important and original philosophers of our time. Music is an original creation by Francesco Giomi, composer and director of the Tempo Reale center in Florence. The text of the show was read and recorded by the famous singer Nada, who for the first time offers her vocal contribution in a choreographic show. The five dancers go through the three scenes creating a compact quartet of men and a metamorphic female figure and always present, like the Venus-goddess of the generative act evoked by Lucretius at the beginning of his poem. The choice of De rerum natura coincides with the urgency of turning to the nature of things, to their soul and origin, placing dance as a tool for investigation and as a manifesto for a reflection on today.
