Outdoor dance floor by Salvo Lombardo reinterprets the contemporary clubbing esthetics, replacing his imaginaries both in the theatrical and unconventional spaces. With this performance the Italian choreographer identifies the club culture as a hybrid dimension in which dance and music become a territory of “possibilities” for the bodies and the chance for the affirmation of a “politic” of the body that transcends gender and social conventions. The performers Daria Greco and Salvo Lombardo put on the stage a choreographic action based on a series of imitable short sequences supported by a constant pulsation in relationship with the beat the of the techno music.

At the end of the piece the audience will be invited to join the flow of the two performers to experience, through dance, new relational dynamics, echoes and reverberations of the movement. Outdoor dance floor wants to embody an act of pure sharing, sociality and aggregation of bodies.

Chiasma is a dance company founded and directed by Salvo Lombardo and supported by Mibac (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities). The company’s productions have been programmed in many theaters and festivals across Italy and abroad. Chiasma works with both the support and collaboration of Festival Oriente Occidente, Théâtre National de Chaillot (FR), Fabbrica Europa, Romaeuropa Festival, Aura International Dance Festival, (LT) Attakkalari Dance Festival (IN), Scenario pubblico, ATER,  Short Theater, Teatro di Roma, Teatri di Vetro, Attraversamenti Multipli, Festival Corpi in Movimento, Versiliadanza, Piemonte dal vivo and many others institutions. and many others institutions. Chiasma also collaborates with numerous artists as dancers, video artists and sound designers focusing mainly on contamination of languages and interdisciplinary artistic research. Chiasma has been supporting Salvo Lombardo’s works since 2018, as well as the choreographers: Valentina Pagliarini and Fabritiza D’Intino.

Salvo Lombardo, performer, choreographer and director, is the founder and artistic director of the Chiasma Company, recognized by the MiBAC – Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, as an “Under 35” Dance Production Organization. His own artist research moves between dance, theater and visual arts while focusing on the languages of video art in the field of visual arts. He has been the co-founder and director of Clinica Mammut, until 2015. In 2015-2016 he has been resident choreographer at Anghiari Dance Hub. In 2017 he has been the guest choreographer at the Aura Dance Theater Company in Kaunas (LIT) and at the Festival Fabbrica Europa. For the two-year period 2017-2018, he started his collaboration as an associated artist with the Festival Oriente Occidente. In 2018 he was awarded a tender by the Piemonte dal Vivo’s Residenze Coreografiche Lavanderia a Vapore 3.0 to work on the project Excelsior in co-production – among others – with the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris and the Romaeuropa Festival. In 2019 he worked as choreographer for the Indian Attakkalari Dance Company of Bangalore. From 2019, together with Viviana Gravano and Giulia Grechi, he is the curator of Resurface_festival di sguardi post coloniali in Rome.
