Claudio Bernardo was born in Fortaleza in Brazil. At the age of 15 he started studying dance in Sao Paulo, then in Rio de Janeiro. In 1986 he entered the Mudra school, directed by Maurice Béjart. In 1995 Claudio Bernardo founded his company: As Palavras. From 1995 to 2017, Claudio Bernardo created more than 50 pieces and won a series of prestigious prizes. To name only the last creations: L’Assaut des Cieux (2009), No Coração da Tempestade (2011), Só20 (2012), Usdum (2014), Giovanni’s Club (2016) and Apoxyomenos (2017)
