Compagnia Simona Bucci

Simona Bucci dancer and assistant of Alwin Nikolais Dance Company of New
York. Coordinator of the Accademia Isola Danza of the Biennale di Venezia; assistant to Carolyn
Carlson. In 2005 the show I Rimasti was awarded first prize at the Concorso Coreografico
Coreografo D’Europa and Best Italian Prudutction for 2005, by Danza & Danza.
In 2007 the Biennale of Venice commissioned Arresi alla notte, co-produced by the Oriente
Occidente festival.
In 2008 the Company debuted with its first children’s piece, Giorgio e il drago, co-produced by La Corte Ospitale and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia.
In 2009 Indissolubile eco, a duo freely inspired by Francisco Goya’s etching “Disparate
Matrimonial”.
In 2010 the Company presented Boxville_ballata di Cartone, a second work for a young audience a
tribute to Alwin Nikolais on the centenary of his birth (1910-2010).
In 2011 it premiered Giuditta e Oloferne, co-production Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, with the support of CCN – Centre Chorégraphique National di Roubaix.
In May 2014 premiered to the Festival Fabbrica Europa, Enter Lady Macbeth, co-production
Festival Danza Estate di Bergamo and Festival Orizzonti di Chiusi.
