Giovanni Seminerio

Giovanni Seminerio violinist, composer and producer, born in Catania in 1966.
After a period of activity as a classical violinist in several national and foreign orchestras, he devoted himself to the musical improvisation. In a first moment with the violin and afterwards with the electronic music, often collaborating with actors, dancers and directors.
He composed music for theater and for multimedia projects choreographies, in Italy and in the United States. He created the music for several tv programs and shows for the tv director Duccio Forzano, broadcasted on the National tv channels rete 4, Raiuno and on Sky TV.
In 2005 he collaborated as an orchestra leader with the renown jazz saxophonist Phil Woods, in the frame of the international music festival "Etna Fest”. He produced several recording projects as a leader, in colaboration with other jazz musicians, and as a soloist and composer in electronic music projects.  
Many of his compositions have been often used for the soundtrack of cinematograhic movies. 
The style of the violinist – composer is a research style. The sonority he creates are often the result of a fusion of violin, and acoustic instruments from the avantgarde electronic music
