Luca & Gabriele Stifani

Luca and Gabriele Stifani are a set of twins Filmmakers and Performers.

Their interest lies in documentaries and Art, exploring the human condition which brought them to travel around the world between independent and commercial shoots. Their recent production “All Or Nothing Manchester City” produced by Amazon Originals was nominated at the 40th Annual Sports Emmy Awards for outstanding serialize series.

In 2009 they are introduced into the world of contemporary dance and performance, plunging in a 10 years collaboration with French choreographer Philippe Blanchard. Though not classically trained performers, their raw-edged performances ‘How About You?’ and ‘ThisIsThat’ have gained critic success and toured worldwide stepping on international stages like The Place in London, Dansens Hus in Stockholm and the Joyce theatre in NewYork.

“The beginning of our collaboration dates back ten years, with the key to several shows and multidisciplinary projects. Throughout this decade, we have engaged in an artistic discourse focused on the issue of identity. Subjects such as deportation, refuge, discrimination and social injustice are at the heart of European identity, we have decided to approach our research on the philosophical discourse ‘Being singular, plural’. Our research residencies aim to share social/artistic/political concerns that affect the whole of Europe. We will endeavour to open up our transdisciplinary practice to local artists working in the field of performance, visual arts or cinema, to broaden our questions about Live-photography in the context of live art and wishing to dialogue
on the theme singular and plural.”
