Perrine Valli

Of French-Swiss nationality, Perrine Valli followed training with a strong technical component at the National Conservatory of Lyon,
the Centre for Choreographic Development in Toulouse and at the London Contemporary Dance School.
As a performer, she has worked with the choreographers Estelle Héritier and Cindy Van Acker and formed her own company
Association Sam-Hester in 2005. Since then she has created about fifteen shows.
Her creations have been presented on numerous stages in Switzerland (ADC, Théâtre de Vidy, Théâtre de l’Arsenic, Théâtre de
l’Usine, Sévelin 36, Tanzhaus, Swiss Dance Days…), France (International Choreographic Meeting of Seine Saint Denis, Festival
Faits d’Hiver, Plateaux de la Briqueterie, MAC de Créteil, Maison de la Danse de Lyon, Quartz, CCS…), Spain (Mercat de les Flors,
Teatro Cicca…), Belgium (Budascoop), the Netherlands (Melkweg), Germany (Tanz im August festival), Russia (TsEKH), Japan
(French-Japanese Cultural Institute, TPAM, Yokohama Dance Collection…), Australia (Melbourne Festival), Singapour (Fringe
Festival), Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi Art).
Artist in residence at Mains d’Oeuvres for four years running, Perrine Valli won the first prize in the international choreography
competition Masdanza in 2007 and in 2009 obtained a CulturesFrance research residency ”Villa Médicis Hors les murs” carried out in
Japan.
The issue of sexual identity takes a central position in her research, as does the articulation of the relationship between narration and
abstraction in her choreographic work.
